I love the zoo. I wonder if you could ask somebody at the zoo or the city chamber of commerce how they keep the tropical plants alive. Or maybe this winter you'll drive by these businesses and there will be empty spots where those plants used to be--because they're repotted and indoors for the winter!

I love going to the zoo. Your pictures were great! Sorry to hear about the whole cat thing that you're going through. I love to decorate my house for fall. It covers Halloween and Thanksgiving...fall colors are so pretty, and it just so happens to be my favorite season!

I think you are going to have to ask someone in the area about the tropical plants. I'd love to know what you find out. The zoo pics are great. I also have no clue what the first thing was but hey it's cool looking! :)

I am also wondering what that weird thing was in the first photo, it was growing on a tree like a coconut would. Strange huh?

I'm wondering what that first one is too.

About tropical plants growing in strange places, I asked my sister about that when I visited her in Scotland. They have tropical plants all over their backyard and it gets very cold there. They are far enough north that they have only 6 - 7 hours daylight in the winter.

Her helpful answer was she had no clue! The plants were there when they bought the place and they had done nothing except trim a few back in the 3 years they'd lived there.

If you find the answer to that, let us know!
