The day of red

18 months ago, thanks to my Fertility Awareness Method charting I knew I was pregnant, before I’d even missed my period.

Now, over a year later I am back in the world of fertile women and am reminded of how bad it sucks to have “that time of the month” again… Oh and we have to be extra careful now because we don’t need a Tater Tot #2 on the way just yet. LOL.

I went back a read the post where we announced the pregnancy. Can’t believe I had just bought my wedding dress… Now that Everly is here I am not as sad about having never worn it. Hopefully someday we’ll still have our wedding, being parents kind of makes that dream seem like small potatoes now though.

Today is Valentines day and initially we weren’t planning to do much. With a kid there isn’t time for a date or for a big night on the town so I requested my favorite home-cooked meal instead. Fondue.

We weren’t planning to do much gift giving either since we just dropped a load of cash on getting our second car back on the road… Then it hit us. This is Everly’s first valentines day and she has to be showered with love and special treats.

So N went out and came back with a cute baby’s first valentines day card and an adorable kissing Elmo stuffed animal. Now she’s got a special gift and a card that will go in her memory box for when she’s older.

I might make some cupcakes or something yummy and N and I will enjoy a nice fondue dinner after E is asleep. Pretty exciting stuff for this “day of red” huh?

Get it? Day of red all around… Period, valentines day, Elmo and so on…

Yep, I am punchy and having a weird sense of humor. It’s the lady hormones talking.

I hope you have a happy V day. It means the world to me that you stop by and read this and I have enjoyed every second of being able to get to know you all.

Awe, that is so sweet that you made the extra effort because it was her first. NOW you can let it slide again until she's 4, and she'll have an understanding of it all.

We took our kids ice skating for the first time and they had a BLAST. Unfortunately it was so bitter cold we only stayed about 1/2 an hour before we headed to a restaurant to eat!

Glad you had a great day.

I am too old for one of your kinds of "red" LOL.... glad that you guys had such a great day!

I, too, am so very glad that we have this way of staying in touch with each other... and TY so very much for sharing E with us! She is a constant delight for this old woman :-)

Okay, so I am wondering - I have a friend that wants to change her website into a blog. How do we do this? They already have a domain name. What are your suggestions?

It is nice to relive some of those memories. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

You are like my across-the-world-twin. I'm also having a day of red. including the period which is heavier now than before Emily came along. *sigh*
