One lovely blog award and Everly rolls
Posted on Oct 01 in Blogging, blogger meme, parenting, personal storiesby TalinaPrint
I was just tagged over at Auguries of Innocence as a recipient of this award and wanted to pass it along to several of the bloggers I’ve discovered via twitter. I don’t always manage to comment on the blogs I read but I am reading and making the rounds I am just lurking.
The rules of this award are:
Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
I am slowly making the transition to mommy blogger and have been loving all my mommy blogger twitter buddies (I don’t have 15 though), they make me feel like I am not alone in this mommyhood thing. I’ve learned lots from them!

These days it seems as all I have to talk about is Everly. Today she was on the play mat and wanted to see the TV better so she rolled on to her side and was chillin’ there watching the TV. It was kind of cute.
Which reminds me, I read this post over on mom logic that made me feel guilty about all the baby photos I’ve been sharing. I know many of you like to see her updates here on the blog since we are so far away from everyone.
At the same time I am sure some of you are sick of the photos right? I am trying to post more than just baby updates and whatnot, I just eat drink and sleep baby these days… and she is pretty darn cute, admit it!
Oh, so I am hearing that my RSS feed is wonky for some people. If you arrived here via a subscription will you please let me know how you are subscribed and if you are still getting update alerts since the blog makeover? Thanks.

You think I might tire of photos of Everly? Think Again!!
That she reminds me of my children and grandchildren at whatever age you photograph her is a compliment and a request for more…. MORE!
The only regret I have about the photos of Everly is that I was not (am not!) personally there to experience them. You have no idea how badly I want to cuddle and spoil her.
Every photo you post of Everly reminds me of a similar one of each of my grandchildren. There is joy in re-living each of those moments as well as joy in it happening anew for you and N.
One of my daughters is now 11 weeks pregnant with her second child. While I treasure her toddler’s phone conversations, I also anticipate enjoying again the joy of cuddling a newborn.
Another daughter has a son entering kindergarten. While I have trouble understanding his fascination with “super-heroes” and “monsters” I truly enjoy his trying to explain such to me.
It would be accurate to say that I am a sucker for every stage of childhood… because I enjoy most their enthusiasm for each accomplishment and each thing learned.
In fact, just today I enjoyed my youngest daughter’s reminiscence of a particular “punishment” I put her through at age 16. That she remembers it 11 years later without guilt is awesome enough, but that she compliments me on my parental skills (even though undeserved) is even more awesome. Sometimes our “instincts” serve us well.
So… do not ever think you post too many photos of Everly. Also, do not ever think you post too much about your thoughts on child-raising. I reserve the right to disagree with you on occasion, but I also know that your right to raise your child as you see fit trumps my right to disagree.
And, note, I have no disagreements so far… I also think that whatever “mistakes” parents might make, if they are made with a loving adoration of the child, they will do little or no harm.
There is no ONE RIGHT WAY to raise a child.

I never get tired of seeing that cutie pie. I have four grandchildren of my own, –my children can never send me enough pictures of them, either. You baby is adorable, and I am loving watching her grow from afar.
