But they so far have been polite enough to answer them. Bush and Nixon I met together when Nixon was running for his 2nd term. I was just a high school reporter, but Bush was very nice and answered questions even though he had to explain to me who he was. I was a bit embarrassed, he was gracious. I never got to ask Nixon any questions because the paid press were all over him, but he seemed friendly enough and shook everyone's hand. Carter, I met during the White House Conference on Small Business he held. He spoke at one of the dinners, but there was no Q&A or meeting there. One of the activities was a tour of the White House during the evening, just delegates allowed. We weren't expecting it, but Jimmy and Rosalyn were there to greet us at the end of the tour. They were both very nice, but what literally stunned me was how tiny they both are. I know every place on the web says Jimmy Carter is 5'9" and there's got to be a minimum height required to get in the Navy, but at 5'7" I felt like Andre the Giant next to Carter.
