Forging ahead – Bringing our car home from Arizona

We are on the road in our newly fixed car! After flying here and hanging out with family and friends it’s now time to make the trip back home, in our car. We spent much time this morning debating weather or not it was a good idea to make the trek up north to I-40 or if we would just head east out of Phoenix. The big storm that is pounding the state is causing much excitement, especially in the high country.

We decided to press on, finally made it to Northern Arizona and are safely in our hotel now. E is asleep dinner is on the way and we are sitting out the snow storm now.

It is pretty here and E is very interested in the falling snow flakes. We miss mountain town living.

Yesterday we had our first date (since before E’s birth) yesterday and it was an experience. We thought we would go out for a nice sit down dinner since N’s family offered to babysit for us. We ended up going out for fancy dessert, coffee…

… and then scored some mall food instead of our nice sit down dinner. Panda Express (that we can’t get in Evansville) just made my mouth water, so we got some. It doesn’t take much to make us happy anymore.

We were only gone for two hours and I was twitching and anxious just like an addict experiencing withdrawal. Each time a kid cried I noticed it, sitting still and relaxing was impossible too.

Of course E had a meltdown as we were preparing to leave and while we were heading out the door. When we got back she was doing just fine eating her sweet potatoes and hanging out with family on the living room floor.

Visiting with everyone in Phoenix went well and now we are officially beginning our “road trip” portion of the week.

Its the little things….like Panda Express that make life good. It does get easier to go out and be able to relax as E starts to get older. Have a safe drive back home!!
