It's neither the best nor the worst, which are outliers. I suspect the mediocre is what the most of us strive for - I know that I do. I will not ever attain the glory of Queen Elizabeth, but neither will I lower myself to the miserable life of a meth addict. My kitchen and my bathrooms are sanitary. My living room is cluttered chaos, books and shoes strewn here and there. My fridge and pantry are well-stocked. My children are happy and fending for themselves.
