Black friday here we come!

I am surprisingly very excited about turkey day and “Black Friday”. Don’t worry I have no intention of actually shopping in stores the day after Thanksgiving, that would be pure madness! I am using a great online sale website that is designed specifically for just Black Friday.

In past years we have had a blast drinking wine after our yummy turkey dinner and wearing our PJ’s while scouring the web and buying all of our holiday gifts online. Personally I am able to shop around for the best prices online and I feel like I get the best deals that way.

We have a few big ticket items we are shopping around for. N really wants a 42 inch LCD TV and we have been looking at them for months. I am not totally pleased with the “holiday specials” on these though. It seems the retailers aren’t really discounting them at all and well we don’t have $1000 to spend on a TV right now.

N also wants a few big hardware store gifts, you know “man-ish gifts”. A lawnmower (preferably an electric one, not gas) and a wet dry shop vac. I am working hard over on gather.com to earn a home depot gift card for these things. Anything to save money and have a cheaper holiday is fine by me!

This is going to be our last holiday season as a twosome. It is crazy to think about. Next year we’ll have a child, we will have stared a family of our own… Everything is about to change and we are excited!

Do you have any big ticket items you are shopping around for this holiday? Any big items you would love to get?

  1. Isn’t that the best feeling ever that you are going to have your next Christmas as a family!!!!
One thing my dad did for me and my sis and something that I have continued with my kids, is every year we buy a tree ornament with the year on it. It’s pretty cool going to my dads on Christmas and seeing all 28 onraments on the tree that are mine ๐Ÿ™‚ I have to buy Riley one that says baby’s first Christmas, i can’t wait. We put up our tree already and our cats have knocked it over already.lol. our 6 month old kitty thinks it’s his toy.
As for big gifts we got Faith a Wii and we plan on buying her a t.v. for her room. Her birthday is November 28th, so we just got her alot of small stuff. As for buying Adam a gift, I have no clue what to get him. He loves the Bucanners football team so I am thinking of maybe getting him something in regard to that. Maybe something he can take on the ship with him that will remind him of me ?? ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This year our main gifts may be our presence instead of presents. Of course this doesn’t mean for presents will be lacking for the grandchildren, but the children may settle for a bottle of champagne to make mimosas to drink while watchting the grandchildren enjoy their Christmas gifts.

Out time together is our gift to each other.

  3. I will have to look at that website and see what’s available! We have most of our shopping finished this year. I decided the best way was to shop gradually rather than trying to save a lot of money and spend it all at once.

You entered my bloggy giveaways carnival contest, and I wanted to let you know about the contest I am having right now. It is for a two week taster pack of Glow Mama drinks! They are great for moms and pregnant women. Stop by and enter when you have a minute ๐Ÿ™‚
